Last Friday I went out to Hidalgo Falls to shoot the sunset and stars since the moon was not going to rise until around 12:30am I thought I could get some good stars shots. The weather and clouds looked promising for a nice colorful sunset. But right before sunset dark clouds formed on the horizon and there was no colorful sunset, damn it! Well that's the way it goes sometimes. Just after sunset the clouds had moved on to a nice clear sky with stars sparkling and you could see the Milk Way with the naked eye. I got a very good shot of the Milk Way and stayed there until about 11pm and then decided to head home for the night. I was about 20 minutes from home and was wondering if I should go by the farm with the windmill and see how it looks tonight. I was coming up on the intersection that if I turn left it takes me home or right it takes me to the farm and at the last minute I said what the hell I’m already out her might as well check the farm out. Well I’m glad I did this is the first time I had seen the farmer have the back light to the barn on. I just thought it looked cool how it lit up the grass and windmill, there was a glimpse of the Milky Way, and the stars where so bright. I'm glad I went and checked out the farm with the windmill because you never know what you will find.
