Took a little unplanned hiatus from photography for about two months in November and most of December. I had some prior comments in November and then the holidays. During my time off from shooting I was thinking of a new place to shoot. One place I thought of was Galveston Island had not been there for about five years even though it is only about 1 ½ hours from my home. I had never shoot there before so I thought well I’ll give it a try and hopefully I can find something interesting to shoot. I looked on Google Earth to see where I might want to shoot and found a large pier I thought might be an interesting place to shoot under the pier before sunrise and during the sunrise. Another nice place to shoot from are the rock jetties they go out about 100 or so yards from the shore line. Can be a little tricky walking on the jetty at night the rocks can be quite slippery. I like the composition I get from the jetties and nice foreground with the waves splashing on the rocks and clouds and the sun rising in the background. I have gone out to the pier four times now and have gotten some good shoots but not the shots I’m looking for. I’m looking for that special light and cloud mixture that just wows you. I will keep going out to the pier and with luck I will find the sunrise I’m looking for. Also I will keep searching for other location on the island as well maybe I will find a spectacular place.
