For the last few weeks I have not been doing my normal nature photography instead I have been doing my other favorite candid street photography. I have not done any street photography for several months. This is something I really enjoy, it is nice to get outside walk around and watch the people and searching for an interesting person and/or people that tells a story and evokes an emotional response. Capturing those special candid moments of a person and/or people in their natural relaxed state is very rewarding and I want to preserve that moment in time. The last two weeks I have gone to Kemah Boardwalk which is on the Texas Gulf Coast approximately 30 miles southeast of downtown Houston. The boardwalk has several restaurants, a collection of rides, midway games, attractions, boutique shops, and live music. This is one of my favorite place to go in Houston, I just enjoy the atmosphere and it is terrific place to take candid photos. The first week was cloudy and stormy and the next week not a cloud in the sky. Sunny days make it challenging to get a good shot, always looking to shoot the subject in the shade or the sun behind them. On a cloudy day piece of cake nice soft lighting everywhere. The photo above I really like. I was standing at a busy pedestrian intersection between rides and was looking for something interesting to shoot when this lady caught my eye. She stood out of the crowed, was elegant and I loved the hat shading her face. I barely had a chance to take one photo before she past me.
